Reading club becomes Relay for Life fundraising dynamo











A group of women who started out as friends, then became a reading club, and now, a powerhouse fundraising team for the Teller County Relay for Life.

"We started the book club in 2002," said club member Anne Kozleski. "We were already friends and we liked to read and talk about books so we decided to formalize it."

On a day when only four division records fell and three were in the motorcycle classes, the red flag came out more than ever before in the 86-year history of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

Leonard Vahsholtz, in his first year of "retirement," was the lone driver to rewrite the books, setting a new mark in the exhibition class before taking to the microphone and providing radio listeners all over Colorado and up and down the hill with news of one unfortunate crash after another.
